Recently my colleague and I were hosting a one week Leadership Development program for a client where we were speaking to the new leaders on the importance of being both consistent and flexible. These leaders found this notion confusing at first, and concerned about how to live this within their own leadership brand.
The question they had for us was how can I be both consistent and flexible?
The question we posed in return was when do I need to be consistent and when do I need to be flexible?
When we posed this question, we were thrilled at the insights they generated and how they were able to take this concept and drive it home with the following guidance:
The new leaders in our program were quickly able to take hold of the notion of being both consistent and flexible once they reframed their perspective and understood the “when”. The question now is where will it take them and where will it take you?
